Use temperature as one input

Compare manufacturer specifications for the exact kit you are considering. Do not treat a temperature number or kit chart as a safe-duration rule. Cold water can affect breathing and movement, and responses differ. Enter gradually and plan an exit. Use the Met Office for forecasts and read RNLI cold-water guidance.
